Astoria Childrens Museum at Firestation #2

Posted by Lisa Corelli No Comments »

The last place I wanted to share with you from my trip to Seaside Oregon is the Astoria Children’s Museum at the old historic fire station #2.  This old building was originally built in 1896 as a Brewery. In 1928 the building was renovated by the city of Astoria to serve as the Uppertown Fire Station #2.

In 1989 the city donated the building to the Clatsop County Historical Society and was re-opened as the Uppertown Firefighter’s Museum.

While you are there, take a look at all the equipment that dates back as far as 1877. There are various fire wagons and trucks and tools. The second floor of the museum is the Children’s Museum and that offers a wide variety of activities and games.

We went because my three year old son loves Fire trucks and to be honest with you it was really cool to see the old engines and how they have changed today.

Enjoy some of the photos I took.
